Rain chances stick around with the warm and humid North Texas weather

We've just experienced our wettest August since records have been kept. We have now measured 10.38" of rain this month, breaking a 107-year-old record (10.33", 1915). And we have a few more scattered showers in the forecast through the rest of the week.

Showers will develop during the heat of the day through Friday and possibly into the weekend as well. Most will stay dry. Afternoon highs today will reach the upper 80s, near 90 tomorrow and Friday and low 90s into the weekend. I can't rule out an isolated shower or two this weekend as well.

By next week, another cold front may flirt with us as soon as Tuesday, increasing our rain chances once again. Afternoon highs Monday and Tuesday will reach the low 90s.

Please dump out any standing water at your home or business. The mosquito population is going to grow rapidly in about 3 or 4 more days. We haven't had to deal with many mosquitoes over the summer, but that will change unless everybody is proactive in removing any standing water in your area.
