Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Fire investigators are looking into why a rail car that hauls automobiles caught fire behind Main Street Station Monday night.
Just before 10pm, fire dispatchers received a call that there was an explosion in a rail car that was parked on the railroad tracks behind the Main Street Station (200 N. Main St). When firefighters arrived, the rail car had fire and smoke showing from it. Ten automobiles were stored inside the rail car which caught fire or was damaged by the fire. It took about an hour to bring the fire under control.
Firefighters were able to keep the fire confined to the one rail car, no other rail cars were damaged.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. There were no reported injuries during the incident.
