KYW To-Do List: Patriotic parties, performances and more things to do for Fourth of July weekend

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — This weekend is sure to be a blast. There are dozens of Fourth of July performances, parades, parties, and, of course, fireworks demonstrations around town.

EVENT: Welcome America
DATE: Saturday and Sunday
WHERE: Mann Center for the Performing Arts, 5201 Parkside Ave., Fairmount Park
DETAILS: On Saturday, the Philly POPS will take over the Mann Center to play patriotic pop favorites and more. On Sunday, Bebe Rexha and Flo Rida will headline Philadelphia’s free July Fourth concert, which is also at the Mann. Fireworks also return to the Parkway at 8 p.m. on Sunday for a grand finale.

EVENT: Fourth of July with the Museum
DATE: Through July 5
WHERE: Online and at the Museum of the American Revolution, 101 S. Third St., Old City
DETAILS: All week long, the Museum of the American Revolution has been exploring what freedom means in observance of Independence Day. See dozens of rare American flags and learn what 18th-century Philadelphia was all about.
PRICE: Free with admission

EVENT: Barnes on the Block with Mural Arts
DATE/TIME: Friday, 6 to 10 p.m.
WHERE: Outside of the Barnes Foundation, 2025 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Logan Square
DETAILS: The Barnes Foundation will be outside on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway for a block party meant to inspire guests to share their own stories. There will be food trucks, a beer garden, live performances, art-making demos, and a film screening from the BlackStar Film Festival. There will also be free admission to the collection with registration beginning at 9 a.m.

EVENT: $4 on the Fourth
DATE/TIME: Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
WHERE: Elmwood Park Zoo, 1661 Harding Blvd., Norristown
DETAILS: Spend the day at the zoo with special discounted pricing for children ages 3 to 12. There will be themed animal meet-and-greets, live music and more.
PRICE: $4 for kids, $12.95 for adults

EVENT: The 4th at the Fort
DATE/TIME: Sunday, beginning at 10 a.m.
WHERE: Fort Mifflin, 6400 Hog Island Road, Southwest Philadelphia
DETAILS: Celebrate our independence at the “fort that saved America.” Visitors can watch musket and cannon demonstrations, get guided tours, and BYO to sit down in the shaded picnic area. You can also reserve a picnic table for $10.
PRICE: General admission is $10

EVENT: Red, White and Blue BBQ Bash
DATE/TIME: Saturday and Sunday, 12 to 5 pm.
WHERE: Peddler’s Village, 2400 Street Road, New Hope
DETAILS: A watermelon eating contest, a tea truck, live music and more await those who attend Peddler’s Village Fourth of July picnic. There will be plenty of grilled favorites like bratwurst and brisket sandwiches.
PRICE: Pay as you go

EVENT: July 4 Fest
DATE: Through Sunday
WHERE: Sesame Place, 100 Sesame Road, Langhorne
DETAILS: Take a photo with Elmo, who will be dressed in his best patriotic outfit. On Sunday, stick around for a 9 p.m. fireworks display.
