A new poll shows that a majority of Americans approves of former President Donald Trump’s indictment by a New York grand jury.

The criminal charges are in connection to alleged hush money payments that Trump doled out to adult film actress Stormy Daniels, money that allegedly was culled from campaign funds.

The survey, conducted by CNN, shows 60% of all Americans support the indictment.

Unsurprisingly, when broken down along party lines, 94% of Democrats approve, while 79% of Republicans disapprove.

Among independents though, 62% approve of the indictment.

When separated by demographics, the poll lines up with majorities across the board in favor of the first ever criminal indictment of a former President.

62% of women and 58% of men were in favor, as were 51% of Caucasian adults, 71% of Hispanic adults, and a whopping 82% of Black adults.

Trump was arraigned in a Manhattan court room Tuesday afternoon where he entered a not guilty plea.
