PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Another violent Saturday for Philadelphia left at least one person dead and six critically injured in three different incidents.

Police said they arrived in the East Germantown area near North Philadelphia, after getting reports about a person with a weapon. That’s where they found one woman dead and two other men, ages 18 and 20, with stab wounds.

A suspect tried to barricade himself before he was eventually taken into custody.

Earlier in the afternoon, around 3:30 p.m., a 16-year-old was found with multiple stab wounds in Kensington. He was taken to a hospital, where is recovering.

Less than an hour before that, three people were critically injured in a shooting in North Philadelphia — in broad daylight. Police said it happened near West Dauphin and Broad streets. The victims, all in their 20s, were taken to a nearby hospital.

No arrests have been made yet in the triple shooting or the Kensington stabbing.
