PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — This weekend, the Philadelphia Museum of Art is hosting their 46th Annual Craft Show.

The show will open at the Pennsylvania Convention Center this Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and continue Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

More than 10,000 people are expected to attend and this will be the museum’s first show without COVID-19 restrictions since 2019.

The hand-crafted work of 195 artists from across the U.S. was selected by a panel of craft experts and will be for sale, modeled and on display.

Some of the art featured in the show are jewelry, furniture and clothes made of clay, glass, metal, fiber and wood.

The show is about more than just vendors making sales, it’s educating people on the different types of art and showing them what goes into creating it, said Nancy O’Meara, Craft Show Director.

Creators Steven Ford and David Forlano have been featured in the show for the last 30 years and feel it is an opportunity for people to connect and learn.

“We love it because it connects us with new audiences, and school groups come to see the show and that’s kind of educating the next generation of craft collectors,” Ford said.

Tickets are available online and money raised from the show will go toward projects and programs at the museum.
