SOUTH JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — A Wildwood woman is in a little trouble for over-inflated balls.
Christine Strothers had her licenses suspended for boardwalk amusement games.
New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin says investigators discovered basketballs used for the game were inflated as much as three times beyond the manufacturer’s specifications last summer.
Platkin also says this resulted in more balls bouncing off the rim or backboard instead of going in the hoop, costing players money and a chance to win prizes. And he noted over inflation has been a point of emphasis for his office and they put operators on notice in 2021.
In addition to her licenses being suspended for 10 years, Strothers must also pay a $15,000 fine.
