PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A first-of-its-kind service will allow American Airlines passengers flying out of Philadelphia International Airport to bypass crowded security lines — by getting screened at another airport about 60 miles away.
Passengers who live near Lehigh Valley International Airport or Atlantic City International Airport can now get screened by TSA agents there and then catch a Landline-operated motor coach to PHL.
Passengers will not have to get rescreened in Philly. Instead, they will be delivered to a secure location at PHL so they can go directly to the gate to board their flight.
“It saves you a lot of time and a lot of headache. Now you don’t have to worry about how long the lines might be here,” said David Sunde, co-founder and CEO of Landline.

“Most of our customers previously would drive themselves to the airport, so think about driving yourself from Atlantic City. You have to worry about parking, traffic, the lines — this is a really easy, seamless experience. You clear security in Atlantic City, you check your bags, you board a bus. An hour later, you are at F concourse to make a connection on American Airlines.”
The program is a partnership between American Airlines, TSA, the airports and Landline’s airport shuttle service.
“We’ve been working with the TSA for 15 months to kind of add this elevated experience,” Sunde said. “It’s the first time it has ever been done in the airline industry. Ever.”
The service can be booked through American Airlines.
