Black bear found on video roaming around Gloucester County neighborhood

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — It got caught red-pawed, and Washington Township, New Jersey police are asking people to stay away from the carnivorous suspect that has been busted for stealing fish from a private pond.

Police said that someone living on Pembrook Road in Washington Township had numerous Koi fish stolen from his pond.

So the owner put up a surveillance camera to find the thief.

Video shows that the thief is a "medium-sized black bear, approximately 300 lbs." according to police.

Authorities ask people there to keep children and pets outside of backyards and other woods-filled parts of the area, and to not get close to any bears.

If anyone finds the bear, police ask you to call them at 856-256-1212.
