4-year-old shot, killed in Chester County

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Coatesville police say that a 4-year-old child has been found dead after being shot in the face.

Police said that they went to a home on East Chestnut Street near Fourth Avenue at about 5:20 p.m. Monday evening for the report of someone with a gunshot wound.

When they came to the home, they found the 4-year-old shot. The child was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from the Coatesville Police Department and Chester County are investigating. There was no initial word on what led to the shooting, whether it was accidental, or if there were any potential suspects.
