PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — COVID-19 indicators like positivity rate and average new cases are still high across the Keystone State, but in southeastern Pennsylvania, cases seem to be holding steady.

The positivity rate statewide is 9.5%. Under 5% is the goal. Total new cases statewide rose by 528, a 2% increase over the week before.

But the seven-day daily average for counties in southeastern Pennsylvania is mixed. Bucks and Montgomery counties are up while Chester and Delaware counties saw a decline.

Delaware County had 35 fewer cases last week compared to the week before with a daily average of 155 new cases.

Delaware County Councilman Kevin Madden said everyone needs to keep wearing masks and following guidelines.

“We are on the one-yard-line. It could be very easy to pull a DeSean Jackson and spike the football when you're not yet across the endzone. We're at that point right now, we need to stay vigilant. We need to keep our guard up," he urged.

Chester County, over the past week, saw a drop in both positivity rate, down a full percentage point to 8%, and new cases, with the daily average falling from 140 to 125.

Montgomery County's average went up 24 cases per day to 224, while the positivity rate rose to 8.5%.

Bucks County's seven-day average went up slightly, from 215 per day to 218, with the positivity rate around 11%.
