Delco launches vaccine program for people who are homebound

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Delaware County has launched a new COVID-19 vaccination program for people who are homebound. The county task force expects as many as 500 residents will be able to get the Moderna shot each week.

Delco residents can get on the list by calling 484-276-2100 or emailing covid19resources@co.delaware.pa.us. A phone number and ZIP code are required to register.

Direct caregivers also qualify for the vaccinations.

For those who feel like they can’t leave their homes safely to get a shot and already registered for a vaccine at a county site, contact the COVID-19 Call Center — the number above — to be placed on what is called the “homebound roster.”

The task force is asking local organizations to help identify individuals for the program.
