PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police in Bensalem, Bucks County have arrested a man accused of running over an off-duty firefighter with a dirt bike last month.

Brian Barlow surrendered to authorities on Monday to face felony and misdemeanor charges.

Shortly before 8 p.m. on Aug. 5, police say Barlow was illegally riding his dirt bike on Neshaminy Valley Drive when he knocked over the 64-year-old firefighter — and then drove over him.

He fled with another dirt bike rider.

The victim was left with serious injuries, including a fractured clavicle, multiple broken ribs, damage to his internal organs, an orbital fracture, and a fractured leg, which required surgery.

Barlow and the second dirt bike rider also face charges for driving an illegal dirt bike in Bensalem Township, which is not permitted.
