PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — One out of 10 people who visit a primary care office complain of fatigue. For people who suffer from a chronic illness, the percentage is much higher.

According to a recent study, 38% of U.S. workers reported fatigue during a two-week period. The problem with evaluating fatigue is that there are literally dozens of causes.

Some can be extremely serious while others are relatively minor. So, how do you find out what is causing your fatigue?

One of the easiest and most effective ways is to schedule a doctor’s appointment and get a physical exam and have a serious conversation about your own health and the specifics regarding your fatigue.

There is a personal and societal cost related to fatigue too: It is estimated that fatigue costs employers more than $100 billion per year.
