PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia did it again.
Jalen Hurts had one of Philadelphia’s four rushing touchdowns and the Eagles soared into the Super Bowl, forcing both of San Francisco’s quarterbacks out of the game with injuries and beating the wounded 49ers 31-7 in the NFC championship game.
The Eagles won the Super Bowl five years ago with a different coach and quarterback. They’ll try to do it again behind the formidable duo of Hurts and Nick Sirianni. They will take on former Eagles coach Andy Reid’s Kansas City Chiefs.
Want to see it go down in person? It’ll cost you.
The cheapest single ticket for Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Arizona is going for more than $5,000 on StubHub, as of Monday morning, and nearly $6,000 on Ticketmaster.
The most expensive tickets go for $20,000 to $30,000 apiece.
And that’s just a ticket for the game. As for travel, AAA Mid-Atlantic says flights to Phoenix right now are anywhere from $600 to $1,000, depending on the airline and the date and time of travel. Add in hotel costs, rental cars, food — it’s going to be an expensive game.
If you’re deadset on going, AAA says to book it now. Spokesperson Jana Tidwell said it might be cheaper to fly in or out of a different airport, and flexibility with travel days could decrease the price, too.
Another way to cut down on the price, she said, is to avoid checking baggage.
And though it adds to the total costs, consider paying for refund or cancellation policies — you never know what can happen.
That’s why Tidwell said it’s also a good idea to book plans with a trusted travel agent or agency, as to avoid potential scams. And, call the company — airline, hotel or rental car — to either book or confirm your purchase with a real person. Leaving it up solely to an email confirmation number is risky.
The Super Bowl is on Feb. 12.
