Police identify human remains found burned along Kelly Drive

Police have identified the burned remains of a 20-year-old found by Kelly Drive more than a week ago. Investigators say the body of Naasire Johnson from Philadelphia was found around noon on Sunday, Feb. 20. Police have not yet announced a possible motive, and no arrest has yet been made in the case.

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — An investigation is underway after human remains were found on fire near Kelly Drive in the Brewerytown neighborhood on Sunday.

Around noon, Philadelphia police were called to 32nd and Thompson streets for a report of a person screaming.

When they arrived, someone led the officers to the remains near Brewery Hill and Kelly drives.

The Medical Examiner’s Office took the remains to further examine and identify them.

An investigation is ongoing.
