PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — While there are certainly many COVID-19 concerns this Labor Day, things are still much better than last year.
The holiday is more than the symbolic end of the summer. It recognizes workers in America, while also giving families and friends an opportunity to get together and celebrate.
Last year, celebrations were dramatically limited due to COVID-19. Without a vaccine available, everyone was at risk for infection. This year, we have a vaccine, and for those who have been vaccinated, it remains an opportunity for celebration with greatly limited risk.
However, there still needs to be caution for those under 12 who have not been vaccinated, as well as those who have made a conscious decision to forego the protection.
It is a better environment to celebrate this time around, but we aren’t out of the woods just yet.
