PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Many parents are still grappling with the idea of immunizing their children, but there are some key benefits to be aware of.
With the exception of some symptoms like pain at the injection site and headache, the CDC is finding there are very few side effects of the vaccine in children ages 12 to 15.
So, should you get your kids vaccinated? The CDC points to several key advantages. One of the biggest is a reduced chance of spreading the virus to family members, especially those at high risk for severe illness from COVID-19.
If children are participating in activities like sporting events, having the vaccine will help prevent your child from being forced not to participate after exposure. Another key point: It can help prevent the long-term effects of COVID-19.
