PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Booster vaccines have been getting a great deal of attention, but there is still a need to get as many people vaccinated as possible.
Estimates vary, but approximately 60 million eligible Americans still need to get the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The unvaccinated remain at the greatest risk of being hospitalized or dying from COVID-19.
The thought was that once the vaccines were shown to be safe, the vaccine-hesitant would choose to be vaccinated. However, misinformation, especially on social media, is confusing many, despite the fact that numerous other vaccines have been successfully used for years.
There is still reluctance. As for the concept of boosters, there is a growing consensus that they may become as commonplace as boosters for the flu.
