PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — This is a very strange Thanksgiving, but strange does not have to be synonymous with dangerous.

Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday. My memories are rooted in family football games followed by breaking every dietary rule I believe in.

That’s why this year is so painful. For many of us, Thursday will be a slap in the face, another reminder of the vicious and uncaring virus.

This is my last chance to warn you about being careful. Stay tough with the knowledge that there is every reason to hope that in 2021, the old traditions — whatever your family traditions happen to be — will return.

This Thanksgiving, the goal should be to pray in your own way for those who have lost family and to do everything you can to keep COVID-19 from your table.
