PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — What should you do if you take a home COVID-19 test and get a positive result?
Home COVID-19 tests are positive when they detect COVID-19 proteins in the body — the so-called viral load. Although they can miss COVID-19 as much as 15 out of 100 tests, they rarely give a false-positive result.
If the test says positive, it is correct 99 times out of 100. So, what if you test positive?
The most important thing to do is self-isolate. You should also let your doctor know, and watch for symptoms.
We talk a great deal about the importance of vaccines — and they are the best protection for all of us. In the event that you start to get sick, let your doctor know. Early intervention gives a patient the best chance of not getting very sick.
