Man arrested for brutal South Philly assault, robbery

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Lance Ryan was arrested for assaulting and robbing two people outside a South Philadelphia market in November.

Police say Ryan was taken into custody by the FBI in Baltimore, Maryland Friday morning.

Surveillance footage, released by Philadelphia police, shows the victims, a 54-year-old woman and 21-year-old man, walking out of Morris Market on the corner of 15th and Morris Streets around 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 7.

Ryan, the attacker, put on a mask and followed the two. He then proceeded to repeatedly punch the male victim and hit the woman to the ground. He stomped on her head twice, knocking her unconscious.

Police say Ryan robbed both victims then took off.

He will return to Philadelphia to face charges for the incident.
