Man shot 16 times, killed in East Germantown

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police are investigating after a man was shot to death Saturday night in East Germantown.

They say it happened just after 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of East Chelten and Chew avenues. A 24-year-old man was shot 16 times throughout his body.

He was taken to Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead minutes later.

Investigators haven't arrested anyone yet, but a weapon was recovered from the victim.
