PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Authorities in Burlington County, New Jersey, are searching for a man accused of breaking into the home of his elderly neighbors and assaulting them before stealing their car.

Police say it was just after midnight on Wednesday when 44-year-old Ryhs Lershe of Westampton Township entered the house on Winstead Drive through a bedroom window.

They say he demanded the keys to the couple’s car and assaulted them before taking off in the vehicle.

The victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding Lershe.

The stolen car is a 2014 black Kia Optima with the New Jersey license plate LJH89D.

Anyone who spots the car or has information on Lershe’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Westampton Township Police Department at 609 267-8300.
