3 Philadelphia men accused of illegally buying, selling guns in city, suburbs

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Three Philadelphia men have been arrested for allegedly buying and selling dozens of guns illegally in Bucks and Montgomery counties, as well as in the city.

Montgomery County prosecutors say Tyron Gresham, 24, illegally bought 37 guns as a straw-purchaser in Philadelphia, Bucks and Montgomery counties, and then resold them to other people.

Nasim Smalls, 24, and Aaron Walker, 20, would drive Gresham around to different gun shop so he could buy the firearms, and they would set up the straw purchase sales, according to prosecutors.

Officials have recovered only three of the three dozen guns. Two were found by Philadelphia police during two separate arrests in June, and the third was located in Michigan during a traffic stop about a stolen car.

The trio is now charged with several counts of gun offenses, as well as conspiracy, corrupt organization and making false statements.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for next week.
