
PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police in Lancaster are asking for the public’s help in identifying whoever is responsible for vandalizing a Hanukkah menorah in the center of town.
Police were notified Saturday morning that the menorah in Penn Square, near the Convention Center and Lancaster Central Market, had been vandalized.
The menorah had been set up on Friday, and police believe it was damaged overnight. The first night of Hanukkah was Sunday.
According to Lancaster Online, the artistic 460-pound menorah is made out of steel, and several of its arms were bent or cut.
Police are scanning surveillance video in the area and ask anyone with information to call 717-735-3301.
