CAMDEN, N.J. (KYW Newsradio) — Tuesday brings Primary Election Day in New Jersey.

Unlike last November’s general election, which saw most votes cast by mail because of the pandemic, voters can actually walk into a booth this time to cast a ballot in person.

Governor, all 40 state senate seats, and all 80 assembly seats are up for election this year.

In Tuesday’s gubernatorial primary, incumbent Phil Murphy is running unopposed for the Democratic nomination.

Four Republicans former Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli, former Franklin Mayor Brian Levine, church pastor Phil Rizzo and engineer Hirsh Singh are competing to challenge Murphy in November.

Virginia is the only other state electing a governor in 2021.

There aren’t many contested primary races, but there is one for the mayor of Camden.

Democrats Elton Custis, Luis Quinones and Felisha Reyes-Morton are running against newly installed interim Mayor Vic Carstarphen.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
