PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Days after reportedly entering rehabilitation, West Chester native and former "Jackass" actor Bam Margera shared a 42nd birthday social media message with some perspective.

The words "only in the darkness, can you see the stars" went across Margera's Instagram post earlier this week, with a field of stars above them.

Reports earlier this week from TMZ and Page Six said law enforcement near St. Petersburg, Florida took Margera to a rehabilitation facility after they received a report about an emotionally distressed person at the Don Cesar Resort Hotel.

There are no reported pending charges against Margera.

Earlier in 2021, alleged issues of substance abuse led to him being taken off the filming of "Jackass Forever," and "Jackass" director Jeff Tremaine had a restraining order placed on Margera.

Movieweb.com says Margera's battle with addiction began as far back 2009.
