PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Jabree Berry is in a wheelchair and has been without a home for some time.
He says life on the streets can be cold, but events like Operation Frosty make him feel warm.
Medical Guardian started Operation Frosty to help Philadelphia’s homeless population. On Thursday, across from City Hall, they hosted their seventh annual event where dozens of workers helped give away coats, hats, underwear, socks and scarves.
Howard Teicher, vice president of healthcare and business development at Medical Guardian, says any little warm item will make a difference.
Brandi Boyer, who came to Philadelphia in September and has been without a home since, says these clothes made all the difference in the world and also let people know they are seen.
Teicher feels this giveaway is especially important during the holiday season.
“If we can do one thing today, keep one person warm, give one person a piece of clothes they can wear to an interview tomorrow then we know we’ve done a good thing.”
