EDDYSTONE, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — An investigation is underway in Delaware County after a pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train Friday evening.

An Amtrak spokesperson said it was just before 6:30 when Train 127, traveling from New York to Washington, D.C. struck a person “who was trespassing on the track" in Eddystone.

Nearly 400 passengers and crew members were onboard, though there were no other reported injuries.

Amtrak says it's working with local law enforcement to investigate the incident, and says railroad safety information can be found at their Stay Off the Tracks website.
