Police: Man killed in road rage shooting on Roosevelt Boulevard; 4 suspects sought

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A minor accident on the Roosevelt Boulevard extension had deadly consequences Thursday night. Philadelphia Police say a man was killed in a road rage shooting. Now they are trying to find four people who were in the car where the shots came from.

At around 7 p.m., police said two brothers heading south on the Boulevard extension were rear-ended at Fox Street.

"The victims pulled over, in order to exchange information, but the striking vehicle pulled up next to the victim’s car, and that’s when the two shots were fired," Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

The shots pierced the car, went through the front passenger seat, and hit Eddie Rodriguez, a 21-year-old man who was sitting there, according to investigators.

The victim's brother, the driver, called 911. Meanwhile, the driver of the other car drove off.

Police now are looking for a dark-colored car. They believe there were four masked men in the car.

Homicide investigators ask anyone who was on the road at the time and saw something to give them a call or a text at 215-686-TIPS. They also request those who have a dashboard camera that may have captured the incident to come forward.
