PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Philadelphia Zoo’s newest sloth bear cubs have officially been named.

For the last week, people had the chance to vote for their names — either Kelce and Harper, in honor of Philly sports legends Jason Kelce of the Eagles and Bryce Harper of the Phillies, or Hall and Oates, for Philly’s iconic pop rock duo.

The most popular duo turned out to be Kelce and Harper. The zoo made the announcement on the Today Show Monday morning.

More than 16,000 people voted online, and about 9,000 voted for the Philly sports icons.

The cubs were born at the Philadelphia Zoo in January, marking the zoo’s second successful sloth bear birth in the last four years. The cubs are also the first successful pair of this species born in more than 30 years at the zoo.
