PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Philadelphia man has pleaded guilty to robbing a U.S. Postal Service worker and to kidnapping and robbing another.

James Chandler, 55, was charged in February with two counts of robbery and one count of kidnapping in two different incidents — one on Jan. 11 and another on Feb. 4.

Authorities say, in both incidents Chandler used a replica handgun to rob mail carriers of packages they were delivering in West Philadelphia.

In the second incident, he is accused of forcing the mail carrier into the truck and then making her drive him around for several blocks before he ran off with stolen packages.

Chandler faces the possibility of a sentence of life in prison.
