PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A School District of Philadelphia teacher has been charged with child pornography in Chester County after, authorities say, detectives found more than 200 images in his possession.
Daniel Gaudiello, 45, of Downingtown, is charged with 50 counts of dissemination of child porn, 50 counts of child porn, and criminal use of a communications facility, according to the Chester County District Attorney’s Office.
In May, authorities received tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Delaware County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force that 145 images were uploaded to an internet provider.
Detectives traced the IP address to Gaudiello’s Downingtown home. Authorities seized his computers and thumb drives, which revealed more than 200 explicit images of young girls. Officials say Gaudiello had uploaded and distributed the images online.
Gaudiello’s LinkedIn page shows he has been a Philadelphia teacher since 2006. The Chester County District Attorney’s Office confirmed he is an employee of the Philadelphia School District.
“It is sickening to think of the innocent young children who were posed and photographed to satisfy the degenerate behavior of the defendant and others like him,” said District Attorney Deb Ryan.
Gaudiello was released on $100,000 unsecured bail.
