Police search for driver in Kensington hit and run

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are looking for a driver who struck and killed a man in Kensington on Wednesday.

They say a white Honda Accord was going southbound on B Street when it ran into a man standing at the corner of B and Venango streets just before 1:30 p.m. The man suffered head and arm injuries and was taken to Temple University hospital, where he was pronounced dead at about 5 p.m.

The driver kept going and eventually ditched the car about a half-mile away on the 3400 block of Hartville Street.

Police have not released the identity of the victim. They are working to identify and locate the person driving that Honda. Anyone with more information is asked to call the accident investigation district at 215-686-8477 or 911.
