PSPCA: Dog shot multiple times in Kingsessing

The Pennsylvania SPCA is asking for the public’s help identifying the individual or individuals responsible for shooting a dog multiple times in Kingsessing. It will need to undergo surgery to amputate its front leg.

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Pennsylvania SPCA is asking for the public’s help identifying the individual or individuals responsible for shooting a dog in Kingsessing Tuesday night.

According to the PSPCA, the dog was shot multiple times along the 1200 block of South 54th Street, near Warrington Avenue. It suffered wounds to its muzzle and shoulder areas.

The wounded dog apparently crawled onto the porch of a nearby home and was found by a good Samaritan.

The dog, now named Alexia, is being cared for by the PSPCA. She will need to undergo surgery to amputate her front leg.

The PSPCA’s animal law enforcement team is asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the cruelty hotline at 866-601-7722 or cruelty@pspca.org. Tips can be submitted anonymously.
