1 dead, 2 in critical condition after quintuple, triple shootings in Philadelphia Friday night

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — One person has died, two people have been listed in critical condition, and five others including a teen girl have also been hospitalized after separate quintuple and triple shootings in Philadelphia Friday night, according to police.

Authorities say the quintuple shooting happened at about 8:30 p.m. Friday on Ruby Terrace, about a block from Bartram's Garden in Southwest Philadelphia.

According to police, a man in his late 20's or early 30's was shot numerous times in his legs. Police took him to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, but he died just after 9:45 p.m.

A 29-year-old man was shot twice in the chest and twice in the abdomen during the incident, according to police. He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and listed in critical but stable condition.

Police said a 14-year-old girl was grazed in the abdomen during the incident, and two other men were also shot. All three of them were also taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and were listed in stable condition.

According to police, there was no initial arrest on scene, and the suspect was unknown. Authorities also said all the victims were uncooperative with investigators. No weapon was initially recovered at the scene.

The triple shooting happened at about 7:30 p.m. Friday near the corner of E and Ontario streets in Kensington, authorities say.

According to police, a 40-year-old woman was shot four times, three times in her chest and once in her left leg. Police took her to Temple University Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.

A 54-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were each shot three times in their legs during the incident, police said. They were also hospitalized and placed in stable condition.

Police said no one was initially arrested, and no weapon was recovered at the scene.
