Second suspect arrested for fatal shooting at Pat's Steaks

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A second arrest has been made in connection to the early-morning shooting last Thursday outside of Pat's Steaks in South Philadelphia that left a Camden man dead.

Jamie Frick, 36, from Newmanstown in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, has now been charged with murder and other offenses.

Paul Burkert, 36, from Reading, has already been arrested and charged with murder and other offenses in connection with the case.

Officers who arrived at the scene of the deadly shooting found David Padro, Jr., 23, shot in the back. He died at the hospital.

Padro's father said his son and his girlfriend were in Philadelphia to go to a nightclub and had stopped for a bite to eat. The district attorney's office told reporters that witnesses said the fight was over a parking space, despite initial reports that it stemmed from a football rivalry.

Defense attorney A. Charles Peruto Jr. has said Burkert acted in self-defense, saying he was "getting pummeled" and calling the shooting "a necessary action to prevent serious bodily injury to himself."

Police had been looking for a woman they say drove Burkert away from the scene in a van. They did not initially specify if Frick is the woman.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
