Shooting, attempted robbery of armored truck in North Philadelphia

The FBI and the Philadelphia Police Department are looking for the suspect who attempted the armed robbery Monday.

They say the suspect is a Black man, 5'9" to 5'10" tall with thin build. Authorities say he was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, black pants, white shoes and a black face mask.

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The FBI is reportedly investigating a shooting and an attempted robbery of an armored truck Monday.

The incident happened at about 5 p.m. near North 5th and West Berks streets in the Norris Square neighborhood of North Philadelphia.

Police sources said a man with a gun approached an armed armored truck driver. The man apparently told the driver to give him the money.

The security guard went back to the truck, turned around and reportedly shot at the man, sources said.

Police believe the man went to the hospital with a gunshot wound in his stomach.
