PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia trial lawyer Stephen Kulp is a champion for change. He pulls from his life experiences as an Asian American, an adoptee and a gay man to be a strong, passionate and unwavering voice for others.
"As a lawyer who represents or intersects all these different kinds of communities, it's my personal driving mission to make sure I speak out for those who have a lot of different reasons why they might not speak out for themselves," said Kulp.

Kulp is the first person of color to be elected chair of the Philadelphia LGBTQ Bar Association, where he is sparking change in the legal community and beyond.
"It occurred to me how important it is to tell people you are the first of something," Kulp explained.
"To tell people I am the first Asian American to take this office, to be elected into this office — the first person of color, too — since 1986 is so much more important. I've embraced it now. If it reaches one person like me, who is, like, I feel, a little more accepted in this space, it's worth it."
Kulp is making his mark as an advocate for a better society.
