PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Bucks County teacher’s aide was arrested and charged with sexual assault after authorities learned she was in a relationship with a 14-year-old student.

Falls Township police charged 38-year-old Jennilynne Derolf with multiple felony counts, including statutory sexual assault.

They say Derolf and the student began texting discreetly on an app before the relationship became physical in June. She was a teacher’s aide at Valley Day School in Falls Township.

Authorities apprehended Derolf after the boy’s grandmother reported the relationship to them. Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub calls Derolf’s conduct “not only reprehensible, but criminal.”

Derolf is currently being held on $900,000 bail.
