PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A street in Montgomery County is being renamed in honor of a Pennsylvania state trooper who was killed in a crash in South Philadelphia last year.

Two blocks of Main Street in Trappe will now be known as Trooper Branden T. Sisca Memorial Highway. A ceremony will be held Friday afternoon to officially celebrate the renaming.

State Rep. Joe Ciresi (D-Montgomery County) helped introduce legislation last fall to rename the street in Sisca’s honor. The 29-year-old grew up in Trappe and later served as a volunteer firefighter and fire chief.

Sisca, 33-year-old Trooper Martin Mack, and a civilian, Reyes Oliveras, were hit and killed by a suspected drunk driver on I-95 in March 2022.
