PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — An Uber passenger was shot during a road rage incident early Saturday on the eastbound Schuylkill Expressway.

Shortly after midnight, an Uber driver in a white Hyundai Sonata was approaching the on-ramp to the eastbound Vine Street Expressway when a speeding black Nissan Altima tried to merge onto the on-ramp “in an unsafe manner,” according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The driver then pulled up next to the Uber car and fired three shots.

The Uber passenger, a 20-year-old woman, was shot in the left thigh.
The 24-year-old Uber driver drove her to a nearby hospital for treatment, where she was listed in stable condition.

The Uber driver was not injured.

Police said the Nissan had New Jersey plates and was last seen heading east on Vine Street.

Authorities ask anyone who may have seen the shooting or have any information to call Philadelphia or Pennsylvania State police.
