PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police have released surveillance video of Monday’s shooting incident in West Philadelphia that critically hurt three teenagers. Two 16-year-olds are clinging to life, a 13-year-old is in stable condition, and detectives are pleading with the public to call in tips.

Authorities say four young men, likely in their teens to early 20s, got out of a gray, newer-model Honda CRV — leaving a driver inside — and fired down Frazier Street near Lansdowne Avenue on Monday around 4 p.m.

Capt. James Kearney, with the shooting investigation group, says, two days later, Pennsylvania State Police recovered a burned-out SUV along Belmont Avenue in Fairmount Park.

“We are working with our major crimes unit. It was burned out. It’s going to take us a little time to get through it to identify the VIN number. There is definitely evidence there. We are hoping to exploit evidence and find out if that is actually the car,” he said.

Kearney says it was a targeted shooting and that one of the gunmen had a high-powered weapon.

“An automatic gun going off, broad daylight, on the streets in the city of Philadelphia — four males just shooting up the block with no care in the world, it seems to me — it’s very disappointing, and these people need to be held accountable.”
