PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A viral TikTok video details what happened as an EF3 tornado ravaged a Bucks County car dealership Thursday.
Four people were injured when the tornado plowed through the Faulkner dealership complex in Trevose. The storm ripped the roof off of the showroom, damaged cars in the lot and collapsed the service center.
Employee Shahzada Shakeel, who took the video, described those moments to KYW Newsradio Friday. "I saw the trees bending," he said, "and once the one glass shattered, everybody just started running toward the bathroom, the storage room, anywhere they can get cover, honestly."
The video shows those moments, as Shakeel and his co-workers run into the bathroom as the tornado approaches. After the storm passes, they emerge from the bathroom to survey the damage. Windows are blown out. Insulation is strewn about the floor, as are ceiling panels.
The employees look at the scene in disbelief, uttering common refrains of "You've got to be kidding me" and "This did not just happen." As one person blurts out, "A tornado just destroyed our showroom."
Shakeel then captures the damage in the lot. Some cars have windshields shattered, while some have broken lights. His camera doesn't linger long, but he shows a couple of cars partially crushed, and one vehicle flipped over onto another.
"I'm just glad everybody's OK," Shakeel told KYW Newsradio after the storm.
The EF3 tornado also damaged a Lowe's Home Improvement store and two mobile home parks. It was one of eight confirmed tornadoes to hit the region Thursday.
