Anyone with a pet at home knows the terrible feeling of when their animal companion goes missing. Luckily for one South Carolina couple, their dog managed to not only find its way home, but let its owners know it made it back safely.

The couple shared video recently of their dog making its way to their front door and ringing the doorbell to be let in after being missing for hours.

As seen in the video, which has gone viral online, the dog walks up to the door and rings the bell using her nose. The moment was captured by the couple’s security camera.

"I don’t even know how she knew how to do that, I’ve never shown her how. She doesn’t go out in the front yard, except to the car, so she’s never seen us use the doorbell," said the dog's owner, Mary Lynn.

According to Fox News, the dog was missing for seven hours after being spooked by fireworks and running away. Luckily, the dog returned safely at 3 a.m., and was able to get inside thanks to the doorbell.
