Everyone has their favorite holiday season traditions, and while plenty prefer wintertime activities or family get-togethers, for most; it’s all about Christmas movies this time of year. Luckily, year after year Hollywood churns out new Christmas movies, so fans don’t get tired of the classics. However, this year things got taken to a new level, as a record number of Christmas movies are set to be released in 2021.
With the holiday season in full swing, all the Christmas movies are slowly starting to be released. However, this year it appears there is no end in sight. According to NME, a record 200 movies with “Christmas” in the title are set to be released. That number has doubled since 2016, and quadrupled since 2011.
“[Hallmark] bet really big on Christmas and everyone else seemed to notice the ratings,” said Brandon Gray, author of the new book ‘I’ll Be Home For Christmas Movies.’ The list doesn’t even include highly anticipated Christmas movies, ‘Silent Night’ and ‘Single All The Way,’ since they don’t have “Christmas” in the title. For Christmas movie fans, 2021 will be a year to remember.
