We all have moments in our lives when we feel like the wheels are coming off. For drivers of one particular Toyota SUV model, that feeling could be a bit more literal.

In a statement released Tuesday, the automobile manufacturer warned customers of a glitch in the production of their bZ4X electric SUV that causes the wheels to suddenly fall off, and that they would buy back the vehicles.

The source of the problem is the hub bolts that fasten the wheel to the car and their propensity to loosen while the car is in motion.

“We know that our customers have many choices when it comes to purchasing a vehicle. We appreciate their loyalty and are supporting them through this recall. However, if a customer does not want to proceed with the provided options, we will offer to repurchase their bZ4X,” the statement reads.

In addition to offering to buy the vehicles back, Toyota is also offering owners of the bZ4X the option to use another Toyota vehicle for free until the company determines how to fix the issue.
