Bill Belichick is as impressed as the rest of us by Tom Brady’s latest accomplishment.
The legendary quarterback reached another impressive milestone Sunday evening, becoming the first player in NFL history to throw for 100,000 passing yards.
Most of those yards came with the New England Patriots, and head coach Bill Belichick marveled at the accomplishment in his weekly appearance on the “Greg Hill Show.”
“It’s a tremendous accomplishment by Tom, and a real credit to everything about him,” Belichick said. “His longevity, his accuracy, his consistency. Just doing so many things right in the passing game for so long. Yeah, it’s a phenomenal accomplishment, and I’m really happy for him.
“No one deserves it more than he does, he’s worked extremely hard and it’s an amazing stat. I don’t even know how far 100,000 yards is, it must be a long way. Or how many miles, I have no idea, but that’s a great accompaniment.”
After being informed that it was 56.8 miles, Belichick was impressed.
“Jesus. Can you imagine,” he said.
It largely has been a down year for Brady and the Bucs, who do own the top spot in the NFC South despite a 4-5 record. But between the milestone and the game-winning comeback he led, it was a decent day for Brady.
