The Washington Redskins lost again Sunday.
The New England Patriots and their legions of fans came to
FedEx Field in Week 5 and left with a 33-7 victory. It was a tale of two franchises in Landover on Sunday: The Patriots, fresh off their sixth Super Bowl title in the last 17 years, improved to 5-0 on the season. And the Redskins, with one playoff win during that same span, fell to 0-5.
The margin on the scoreboard was 26 points, the gulf in class was much larger.
The Redskins offense did not run a single play inside the Patriots' 20-yard line. Washington went 1/11 on 3rd downs. Tress Way tallied 500 yards on his 10 punts
The Redskins held their own early in the game and scored the contest's first touchdown on a 65-yard run from
Steven Sims Jr. which put them up 7-0 in the 1st quarter.

October 6, 2019 There were some other early signs of positivity, the defense got to Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, sacking him four times during the game. And after stuffing New England on a 4th-and-1 to protect a 7-6 lead and intercepting Brady in the red zone in the 2nd quarter while down 9-7, there was a sense the home side may keep the game close.

October 6, 2019 At half, the vaunted Patriots only held a 12-7 lead.
Any doubt about the outcome, however, was soon removed in the third quarter. The Washington offense sputtered and the defense could only reliably get off the field after New England scored: The visitors had three possessions and two touchdowns and the Redskins had two possessions and two punts.

October 6, 2019 Brady finished with 348 yards passing and three touchdowns. Running back Sony Michel gained 91 yards on 16 carries. The visitors ran 74 plays for 442 total yards to the home team's 220 yards on 53 plays.
